Marlington High School National Honor Society

Selection Process
Every junior and senior who has been a student at Marlington High School for one semester or more and who has at least a 3.200 GPA is eligible for consideration. There is no application; students do not apply. The faculty evaluates the eligible students in the areas of leadership, service, and character. Student GPA determines scholarship. Each of these four areas of leadership, service, character, and scholarship are of equal importance for NHS selection. The faculty scores are collected and tallied and a Faculty Advisory Committee reviews results. Only those eligible students who receive the necessary faculty points are tapped for membership into National Honor Society. The eligible students who do not receive the necessary faculty points do not become members. Being tapped into Marlington’s Chapter of the National Honor Society is an honor bestowed upon the student; it is not a right. If you have any questions about the selection process, please feel free to contact Chris Locke at: [email protected] or Jeff Oyster at: [email protected].
