Policies and Procedures

Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed your summer vacation! With your help, we can make this a great year!

It is my goal to help each student understand mathematics more completely and to help each student develop stronger problem-solving skills. I hope you will enjoy mathematics this year and beyond.

I know that each student can succeed in mathematics. It may be more difficult for some students and take some students more effort, but it will be all the more rewarding for these students once success is achieved.

Expectations
Each student is expected to come to class ready to learn with a positive attitude. Attitude is everything! Each student is also expected to be prepared each day with textbook, math folder, pencil, and completed homework assignment. Each student is expected to follow the Marlington High School Code of Conduct as well as the following classroom rules:
1. Be in assigned area before the bell rings and remain in seat, unless instructed otherwise.
2. Follow directions the first time they are given.
3. Be respectful to all in the classroom.

Rewards and Consequences
If the above expectations are met, students will receive the following:
1. Verbal praise
2. Individual rewards
3. Classroom rewards.
Consequences for not meeting expectations may result in one of the following:
1. Verbal Warning
2. Hallway conference or removal from class
3. Call home to parent or guardian
4. Written official notice (Detention) and/or visit to appropriate administrator
5. Work period during lunch.

Grading
You earn the grade you receive. Grades are determined by completed homework (Student's effort is looked at not correct/incorrect answers.), class work, quizzes, tests, projects, group work, folders, journals, and participation.

Late assignments will be dropped accordingly: 1 day-25% off, 2 or more days-50% off.

If you are absent, you are responsible for all work missed.

Any questions, comments, or concerns, pleade don't hesitate to e-mail or call.
