keep his high grade point average. He checks for missing work, and always talks
to teachers to see how he can improve. He has great relationships with teachers
and peers. He is a good friend, and a great helper. His bubbly personality
makes him very well liked. We are impressed with Ben's progress, as he has
improved in all areas. He is also a wonderful athlete, and he is able to
balance all of his busy schedules. Ben has a great future ahead of him.
Dakota Cottrell/Landscaping
Dakota is a hard
working young man. This student has completed virtually every task that
has been given to him. He continues to stand out within his class by
being reliable and eager to work. Dakota has also shown an interest
in drafting. He excelled in the classing picking up the ability to
produce 2 point perspective drawing that give a 3 dimensional views of a building
or a landscape. Dakota rarely complains or refuses a task making him a
prime candidate for duke of the month.
Keely Kennedy/Technology
Keely is a
wonderful young lady. I have enjoyed getting to know her this year. As my
library aide, Keely helps both students and staff with various tasks. She
does this daily with competence and grace. Keely is well-spoken,
respectful and kind…qualities that will serve her well as she enters college
next year. Keely has a bright and exciting future ahead of her…I can’t wait
to celebrate her successes in the years to come. Great job, Keely!
You will be missed ☺
Mrs.
Beamer
Cody Fohl/Social Studies
Cody has really improved
his grade in American History and is putting much more effort into class.
However, what impresses me the most is his class participation. Cody
raises his hand to answer questions and, even more important, to ask questions.
I really enjoy having Cody in class.
Jonathan Marx/CBI
Jonny has made
great strides this nine weeks. Jonny's work ethic and attitude has grown
tremendously. Jonny is also a member of the baseball team.
Dillon Fildes/CBI

great improvement this year. Dillon will pass all of his classes this
nine weeks. Dillon accomplished this by improving his organization and
developing better study skills.

Davey has been a
big help to our CBI students. Davey regularly gives up his time to help
tutor and motivate the students in the classroom.
Mr. Miley
Jordan White/Guidance
Jordan is a
superb young man. He is a role model for other students as well as staff.
Jordan works hard and always does exactly what he is asked to do and he
does it with confidence and confidentiality. Not only does Jordan have an
outstanding work ethic but he is also highly successful with his academic
studies. We look forward to seeing Jordan every day and we appreciate the
kindness and care that he shows in the Guidance Office. Thank you Jordan.
We appreciate you and all of your effort.
Mrs.
Buck, Mrs. B. and Mrs. Smith
Abigail Boyle/Science
Abby is an
Anatomy and Physiology student this year. I love Abby's desire to learn
and her witty and dry sense of humor. She always seems to ask me questions
that I don't know the answer to, but that's OK -- that way we both learn
something. She's fun to have in class and is always willing to join in
discussions. I have really enjoyed getting to know Abby!!
Patrick Husk/Physical Education
Patrick is such a
joy to have in class. He is always prepared for class, and you can always
count on Patrick to give his best effort. His kind disposition and
willingness to help are great attributes that will serve him well throughout
his life. It is for his great effort that Patrick is this month's physical
education Duke of the month.
Erin Brookes/Family Consumer Science
Erin is such a
fantastic culinary student and young lady! She is a diligent worker, pleasant
and always so kind. She is a great "kitchen-mate" working very well
with others throughout the classroom. Erin strives to do her best and is a
conscientious student. Congratulations, Erin!
Amelia McMinn-Bryant/Foreign Language
Amelia has a
natural talent for languages, which include French and Arabic. Amelia has taken
on the role of a leader in our French AP class.
Although extremely busy with extra curricular activities, work and her
college classes she still manages to get all of her school work done in an
exemplary fashion. Amelia tutors students in the lower levels giving up her
valuable free time. She is one of the most kind and caring students I have had
the pleasure of teaching.
Karissa Cowgill/Health
Karissa was
nominated for her hard work and participation in Health. Karissa always comes
to class prepared each day and completes all of her homework on time. She is a
great student and has a wonderful personality. Karissa adds good insight to our
class discussions and debates. She also seems to take interest in the area of
health. It is for her achievement and dedication that she is elected as the
Health "Duke of the Month" Thanks and Keep up the great work!
Aric Morian/Vocal Music
Aric has worked
so hard in choir this year as a strong leader in the bass section, and in the
help he is willing to put forth. Anything that is asked of him, he does
right away, without complaint. Often, he sees a need and takes care of it
without being asked. Aric leads by example and strives to make our choirs
better. He will be truly missed when he graduates this
year, and his shoes will not easily be filled.
Mrs. Painter
Andrew Davis/English
Andrew is a
senior with a strong work ethic and a big heart. He is always positive and
polite to everyone around him. I know that he doesn't care for Shakespeare, but
he gave 110% anyway. He shows this effort daily, no matter what we are doing in
English class and his efforts have paid off. He has improved in reading and writing
this year. I cannot think of a better person to receive this award than...Andrew
Davis.
Emily Reinsel/Art
Emily is
currently in Art 4. Within her journey in art, her natural ability has
been very apparent from the start. She is always going past my
expectations by adding a creative twist to personalize her projects. She
is an extremely hard worker and dedicated to making each project her very
best. There is one characteristic about Emily that stands out more than
the others, her self-motivation. She pushes herself to try new techniques
and to become a better artist. Not only are Emily’s artistic skills
excellent, her personality shines as well. She is always eager to help
other students with ideas and is very respectful to her teacher and peers.
Congratulations Emily. I am so proud of you!
Tyler Tokos/Mathematics
Tyler is a
sophomore in Honors Algebra II. He participates in class, completes his
homework, asks questions, and always tackles the challenging problems.
Tyler has been doing extremely well in math; in fact, he is not only a
great math student but a very nice and pleasant young man as well. He
comes into math everyday with a smile on his face and ready to work. The
math department is proud to present this honor to Tyler. Way to go,
Tyler!
Audra Balzer/Band
Audra is a great musician
who is fluent on many instruments which makes her an asset to the band program at
Marlington. She exemplifies citizenship and scholarship on a daily basis.
I can always count on Audra to lend a helping hand around the band room
whether it be organizing music or getting the band room setup for an event.
The band program is blessed to have such a model student.
Congratulations Audra!
