Junior Achievement

Marlington Junior Achievement

Students in College Tech Prep Accounting I participate in the JA Titan program. JA Titan is an online business simulation that teaches students how to effectively manage a business. Students work in teams and make decisions about price, production, capital, and marketing budgets.
What is Junior Achievement?

Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

Junior Achievement programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities.

About JA Company:

The JA Company Program experience enhances students’ classroom curriculum. Students are encouraged to use innovative thinking to learn business skills that support positive attitudes as they explore and enhance their career aspirations.
Students will work together in to start their own company.  They raise capital by the sale of shares of stock and they will use the funding to develop a product that they will sell throughout the project. The students also have the opportunity to compete against other Stark County schools at the annual JA Business Challenge. The winning team wins $750.00 and a chance to compete nationally in Washington DC.
