Day 1

Language Arts:

Keep a journal of your day.  Let me know three things that you did today.  Draw a picture, label the picture, and write a sentence about your activity.  Do this for each of the three things that you did.

Practice your sounds today.  Choose five things from your bedroom or toy room.  Draw each thing and write its' name under it.  Remember to write as many sounds as you can.  Do you hear the beginning, middle, and ending sounds?

Day 2

Let's practice reading your color words today: red, blue, orange, green, purple, brown, black, and yellow.  Write the words on index cards or pieces of paper.  Choose two of the following activities.  Make sure a grown-up writes which activities you did.

Write the word in shaving cream , pudding, or salt.

Write the word using that color crayon.

Play flashcards with someone at home.

Spell the words by cutting letters out of the newspaper.

Tape the words to items that are that color around your house.

Day 3

Keep a journal of your day.  Let me know three things that you did today.  Draw a picture, label the picture, and write a sentence about your activity.  Do this for each of the three things that you did.

Let's go hunting.  You are going on an alphabet hunt.  How many things can you find around the house for each letter of your name?  Draw and write the word under each picture.  Try to find at least three for each letter.

MATH

Day 1

Collect the loose change around your house.  Sort the coins and name them.  You may need a grown-up to help you.  DO NOT go in anyone's purse without asking first!  Play heads or tails with a penny.  Keep a tally of the number of heads and tails.  Challenge someone to a game.

Day 2

How tall are you or someone at your house?  Don't use a yardstick.  Tell me how tall you are in blocks, or pillows, or spoons, or pieces of fruit.  You may measure with as many of these or even different things as you wish.  Just measure with at least one thing.

Day 3

How many toes are at your house?  Make sure that you count everyone's feet (even the dog's, cat's, bird's, etc.) Draw all of those toes.

Circle groups of five.  Did you have any left over?
