Hello and welcome to my page! 

      I am starting my 24th year of teaching this year.  I have been at Lexington Elementary my entire teaching career.  I have taught Title 1 students, 1st grade, a 2nd/3rd grade combination class, a straight 2nd grade class and this will be my 17th year in 3rd grade. My favorite is 3rd grade because I love that the students come to me ready to improve their reading and writing and they are excited about learning new information.

      I graduated from Kent State University with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and my Master's Degree in Technology Integration.  In September, my husband and I will celebrate 39 years of marriage.  We have two sons, one who is an Engineer at Trilogy Plastics here in Alliance and our younger son is an RN who does travel nursing around the United States.  My husband and I are also proud grandparents to an eighth grader and twins going into fifth grade this year.  We also have our own "furkids", nine year old Taz--a Shiloh Shepherd who brings us a lot of goofy joy each day and two year old Koa.  

     In my time away from school, I am very involved and interested in photography.  I also enjoy working with our dogs and upgrading my skills and knowledge in dog training. I would like to open my own dog training business/facility when I retire.  I love spending time with our grandchildren, watching them play in their respective sports--volleyball, soccer and softball. In my free time, I will often be reading, swimming, spending time at the beach, working with Taz and Koa and, most importantly,  spending time with my husband.  

      I will be teaching reading, writing, social studies and spelling this year.  I work very hard to integrate technology into the lessons so students are involved and better able to stay on task with their assignments.
