Hello and welcome to my page!
I am starting my 23rd year of teaching this year. I have been at Lexington Elementary my entire teaching career. I have taught Title 1 students, 1st grade, a 2nd/3rd grade combination class, 2nd grade and this will be my 15th year in 3rd grade. My favorite is 3rd grade because I love that the students come to me ready to improve their reading and writing and they are excited about learning new information.
I graduated from Kent State University with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and my Master's Degree in Technology Integration. In September, my husband and I will celebrate 38 years of marriage. We have two sons, one who is an Engineer at Trilogy Plastics here in Alliance and our younger son is an RN who does travel nursing around the United States. My husband and I are also proud grandparents to a seventh grader and twins going into fourth grade this year. We also have our own "furkids", eight year old Taz--a Shiloh Shepherd who brings us a lot of goofy joy each day and one year old Koa. In my time away from school, I am very involved in photography and building my experience in becoming a professional photographer when I retire from teaching. I also enjoy spending time with our grandchildren, watching them play in their respective sports--volleyball, soccer and softball; reading, swimming, spending time at the beach, working with Taz and Koa and spending time with my husband.
I will be teaching reading, writing, social studies and spelling this year. I work very hard to integrate technology into the lessons so students are involved and better able to stay on task with their assignments.
I hope you enjoy your third grade year and learn a lot!
