Cookie Dough- Finish filling in a check. Either write the words for a number or write the number for some words.

Duck Von Fly- (click on math games at the top of the page then scroll down to third grade. Once you are there, scroll down again to find “place value to the thousands.” ) This game is VERY fast!! Write the number for some words or write the words for a given number. Then play a tank game.

Really Big Numbers- Enter a number and say it. Click a button to see the number in words.

Place Value Puzzler- Look at a number. Click on the numeral with the correct place value.

Mystery Picture- Match the numerals and the number words to uncover a mystery picture.

Big Numbers- This site helps you understand place value and how to read and write large numbers.

Arithmetic Workshop- Move, break, and combine virtual models of ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands, while the value of the entire number is being written out in three different forms.

Place Value Quiz- This is a great interactive online quiz about determining place value for both whole numbers or decimals. Use the "Level" option to change the difficulty.

Virtual Base Blocks- This great online manipulative allows you to investigate whole number and decimal place value by placing, moving, breaking, and grouping base blocks to represent whole number and decimal number place values.

Shark Number- Count the base ten blocks and click on the shark bubble that matches it.

Shark Numbers- Count the base ten blocks and click on the correct bubble.  If you’re right, you’ll see a dolphin.  If you are wrong, your boat will be bitten.  Stay Afloat!

Use mathematical language and symbols to compare and order; e.g., less than, greater that, at most, at least, <, >, =,<,>.


Alligator Lunch- Students learn greater than and less than symbols.

Comparing Numbers-Practice- Compare the two numbers and choose the correct comparison symbol.

Comparing Number Values- Choose from levels one, two, or three. Use greater than, less than, or equal signs. Fun graphics too!

What's the Order?- Put these numbers in order from least to greatest.

Writing Big Numbers- Game 1 Greater than, less than. Can you tell whether the numbers are greater than, less than or equal to? Game 2 Ordering numbers.- Can you put the big numbers in the correct order?

Fishy Numbers- There are two levels to choose from. In the easy level, click on the largest number, then the smallest number. In the harder level put five fish in numerical order from least to greatest.

Countmoneyand make change using coins and paper bills to ten dollars.

Discovering Coin Values- This is a really cute game! You are given a money amount at the top of the screen. Click on each of the coins needed to total that amount. Place the coin at the top of the rollercoaster and watch as the computer adds your coins up.

Lemonade Larry- Help Larry sell lemonade. You have to figure out how much money each of Larry’s customers would need to pay him for his lemonade.

Little Farmer presents “Buy It”- Purchase the farmer’s items and count the money that you should pay for the item. This money game has three levels for you to choose from.

Adventures of Penny- A fun, informational site to help you learn all about money and banking. It tells the history of the penny, information about the dollar bill, tips on saving money, etc.

Money Matching Game- Match equivalent amounts of money. Some blocks have an amount already on them and others have various coins that need to be added up to find the total.

Change Maker- Get as much money in your piggy bank as possible, by figuring out the correct change. There are four levels to choose from. Don’t forget to choose the American flag so that you can practice counting with the money that we use in the United States.

Counting Change - Matching Game- Count up the amounts of change and see how much money you have. Play a matching game with the amounts.

Movable Money- Read how much an item costs. Move the correct coins and bills into the center of the screen using your mouse. There are three levels; easy (ends in multiples of five), medium, and advanced (giving change back).

Cash Out Game- In this online game you are given three minutes to complete as many sales as possible. For each sale, an animal is making a purchase and your job is to give the correct amount of change. There are three levels of difficulty going from simple coin change up to large dollar amounts.

Money Quiz- This is a great interactive online quiz about counting money with pictures or words. Use the "Level" option to change the difficulty.

Add and subtract whole numbers with and without regrouping.

Spacey Math- Reenergize the space station by using your addition and subtraction skills. Answer these questions and power up special lasers to help the captain regain energy for the space ship Parabala. You must sign in, but you can use the same log on for everyone in the class. - choose from addition or subtraction.

Speed Grid Challenge - Addition - Level 1- Students answer the question set by clicking on two numbers that complete the sentence. You set the number of questions (2 to 99) and the time limit (1 to 10).

Ghost Blasters- (two players) Students must “blast” a pair of ghosts whose sum equals some number specified before the game begins. Sums from 5 to 99 can be set.

That’s A Fact- Practice math facts, time yourself, and become a math whiz! Addition and Subtraction sums and differences to 10, 12, and 20. Verbal instructions are included and students can select timed or untimed. (30 facts).

Tables Chant- This site produces random times tables questions and the class are expected to call out the answers against the clock.

The Table Trees- Choose a number to serve as a factor in multiplication tables. Then fill in the missing number (either the product or one factor) in the equations.

Multiplication Station- In this game you click on squares in a grid to pick two numbers that multiply together to make a needed answer. After each correct answer the used squares disappear leaving you with less to use. How far can you make it? Great for practicing multiplication tables.
