General Information

Orange Folders- Your child will have an orange take-home folder that comes home daily. I ask that you check the folder each evening for papers and notes from school. Please send in any notes about bus changes, pick up, doctor appts or illnesses in this folder. I will be checking the folder daily.

Money- When sending money to school, please put it in an envelope and label it with your child's name and what it is for. Please put it in the Take-Home folder and send it to school.  Thank you.

Birthdays- Birthdays are special in our class!  Many children enjoy sharing a treat with classmates on their birthday. We cannot accept homemade food items. We must have prepackaged food items.

If your child has a summer birthday, we can arrange an "unbirthday" day to celebrate.  Just drop us a note and we will work to arrange a day together. We will celebrate your child's birthday whether or not they bring in a treat. Please do not feel treats are necessary.

Grades- In first grade we use (Meets Expectations), P (Progressing) and (Not Yet) on our report cards. You will be receiving information about how to view your child's progress and report card at the beginning of the year.

Classroom Rules

At Washington Elementary we follow DUKE pride expectations:
