Hello everyone! My name is Mr. Nick Modney and I am the choir director at Marlington High School! I cannot wait to really dive in to the music with every ensemble and I look forward to meeting each and every one of you over the next year! I couldn't be more excited to start singing soon!
Currently, my wife and I live with an amazing puppy, Piper, and two amazing cats: Captain and Barbossa. In my free time I love to listen to music, cook, work on cars, and go on walks with my family.
We offer 5 choirs at the high school: Mixed Choir, Advanced Women's Choir, Duke Fusion, Duchess Voices, Chorale, and Duke Street. I would love for you to audition for the upper choirs (Duke Street and Duchess Voices) in May and encourage you to join Chorale, Mixed Choir, or Duke Fusion as well.
Over the past few years, we have grown and changed the choir department. We have traveled to Disney, participated in Large Group contest, and sang at different venues from Cedar Point to different high schools in the area. While you are in choir, you will learn to read music, sing in different languages, and work together to create some amazing sounds! We have 4 choir concerts at the Marlington High School every year and all the dates for these will be given out at the beginning of the year.
I am also a co-director of Drama Dukes with Mrs. McAlister, Mr. Locke, Mrs. McGuire and Mrs. Knisley. Those who sing in choir are also encouraged to join the Drama Dukes and participate in the musical in the spring!
