¡Hola! My name is Señora Rahamiah Oyster. This year, I am teaching Spanish 1 & 2 at Marlington High School. I am excited to have you in class. I have been teaching various levels of Spanish since 2006; however, I have been a proud Marlington Duke staff member since 2021!
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Spanish Education from Mount Union and then a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership at Walsh University. I studied abroad in Costa Rica and lead student trips there so that my students can experience the language & culture firsthand. Additionally, I have spent time in Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Dominican Republic, and Spain.
I live in Marlboro Township with my husband, Nathan, and our 3 kids: Hunter, Tanner, & Ryleigh. I grew up in East Canton on
a dairy farm; however, I consider myself an honorary Duke as my parents, my in-laws, my husband (& now my kids) went here. I enjoy reading, crafting, canning, being outdoors, spending time with family, taking pictures, & making Shutterfly books.
As a Spanish teacher, I love when my students feel the power and wonder of learning a language and the culture connected to it. In my classes, we will learn all aspects of the Spanish language - reading, writing, listening, speaking, and culture.
Can't wait to learn with you!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns.
